myPROmyDESIGNERDataTalk

Škoda Auto deployed mySCADA and DataTalk as the central platform for their autonomous vehicle (AGV) fleet management system — automating internal logistics, replacing manual forklift handling, and providing real-time fleet visualization on vector maps with full alarm management accessible via tablets on the Škoda IT network.

The initial state was characterized by a low level of digitalization in logistics operations, with very limited data availability and no systematic way to evaluate AGV fleet performance or intervene in abnormal states. The main project goals were to: automate internal logistics and related production processes, replace manual handling using forklift trucks, obtain detailed operational data from logistics processes, ensure secure data transmission and integration into Škoda Auto IT systems, and enable advanced analysis and process optimization.

The mySCADA and DataTalk platform serves as the central data and integration layer, collecting vehicle telemetry and diagnostic data from Rockwell Automation Safety Logix PLCs, transmitting it securely via the DataTalk OT/IT Gateway using MQTT. Data flows into two main systems: the TCS (Traffic Control System) handles AGV fleet control and basic operator visualization within Škoda Auto, while mySCADA (myPRO) provides advanced real-time monitoring, remote web access, and full control and configuration of the vehicles. Visualization of AGV positions is displayed on vector maps alongside key parameters including state, speed, and battery status — accessible to field operators via tablets and to all personnel connected to the Škoda IT network. mySCADA operates in fully redundant mode ensuring 24/7 continuous availability.

  • Real-time AGV position visualization on vector maps with full operational parameters (state, speed, battery)
  • Redundant system architecture ensuring 24/7 continuous availability without single points of failure
  • Historical data storage enabling retrospective logistics analysis and performance evaluation
  • Automated alarm and event management for detection of abnormal and critical states
  • Logistics performance monitoring accessible via tablets for field operators
  • Standardized data layer enabling integration with higher-level analytics and IT systems
  • Manual forklift operations replaced by automated AGV fleet with full digital oversight
