Europe Cold Storage Project
A large-scale cold storage facility with 72 double-stack cold rooms and 9 additional chambers — previously controlled by unsupported legacy Danfoss systems — was brought back under modern, maintainable control with mySCADA. The project leveraged mySCADA's broad protocol support to interface with existing hardware without costly full replacement.
The project entailed control of 72 double-stack cold rooms and an additional 9 chambers, each approximately the size of 40 double-stack tunnels. The existing Danfoss controllers were deployed with proprietary control and monitoring systems that were no longer supported or maintained. Replacing all hardware would have been prohibitively expensive, so a software-led modernization was required that could interface with the existing Danfoss infrastructure.
With mySCADA's large number of built-in communication protocols and drivers, the team was able to easily interface with the existing Danfoss devices without replacing any field hardware. mySCADA was deployed as the supervisory layer, providing modern visualization, centralized monitoring, and alarm management for all 81+ chambers. The solution restored full operational visibility and control while protecting the existing hardware investment.
