myBOX IPC — How It All Started

About 15 years ago, the mySCADA team was regularly deploying SCADA systems at wastewater treatment plants. Every project followed the same exhausting pattern: build a full IT cabinet from scratch — Windows PC, switch, firewall, GSM modem, VPN client — then spend days configuring everything and hoping nothing broke before commissioning.

When something did break, it meant a site visit. Every time.

The Problem Worth Solving

The cabinet approach wasn’t just slow. It was fragile. Windows updates, driver conflicts, VPN misconfigurations — the failure points were everywhere, and they always seemed to surface at the worst moment. There had to be a better way.

The Solution: myBOX IPC

The team developed myBOX IPC — an all-in-one industrial device combining a SCADA server, firewall, 3G modem, and VPN client in a single compact unit. They chose ARM architecture running Linux: stable, low-power, wide operating temperature range, and none of the Windows baggage.

The results were immediate:

  • Installation time dropped from days to hours
  • No Windows updates or complex VPN configurations to manage
  • Automatic SD card backups for instant recovery
  • Remote connectivity and PLC programming out of the box

Early Moments

One early customer had 50 people simultaneously watching a live glass furnace process through a single myBOX IPC. Another ran an entire concrete production plant on one device.

Hardware Evolution

  • Generation 1 — Three Ethernet ports, GSM modem, passive cooling
  • Generation 2 — Redesigned casing as a heat radiator, higher-performance CPU
  • Generation 3 — Double the processing power, enhanced heatsink (released December 2025)

Today, myBOX IPC units run in mining operations, factories, water treatment plants, smart homes, power plants, and on marine vessels. The frustration that started it all turned into one of our most-deployed products.
